Jackson reveals final look at McKellen as Gandalf in The Hobbit

Well, that’s a wrap — or at least it is for Ian McKellen’s Gandalf on The Hobbit trilogy.

Director Peter Jackson has been keeping fans apprised on the lengthy shoot via hia Facebook page, and has now revealed a pic from McKellen’s final day of shooting. Of course, Gandalf is expected to appear in the remaining two Hobbit films set for release later this year and in 2014, but McKellen’s scenes are apparently complete.

Jackson essentially called the wrap an end to an era, dating back almost 15 years to when they filmed the Lord of the Rings trilogy:

"Seconds ago we finished our last shot with Gandalf. The end of an incredible adventure that began in 1999. I'm feeling very sad right now."

Check out the pic above, which shows a sad Jackson and McKellen saying goodbye to one of the most iconic characters in modern fantasy.

Oh well ... at least we still have two more movies on the way to enjoy our favorite wizard. Factor in the extended editions that Jackson is surely prepping, and we should still have more than enough Gandalf to go around. But we Lord of the rings fans which is including me will miss it :(

Get Karlie Kloss’ Dramatic Smoky Eye

Want to get Karlie Kloss' dramatic smoky eye makeup style? Here's how: How to get it at home: If you're going to be wearing heavy eye makeup, it's often a good idea to start with the eyes and apply the base after, just in case of any fall out. Karlie's look is sophisticated, and no doubt took 3 or 4 shadows to achieve, but you can get the look easily with Smashbox's Fade To Black Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette in Fade Out ($42). The secret to any good smoky eye is color depth. It's rare (if not impossible) to get a stellar smoky eye using just black, so take a cue from Karlie and start with a black shadow and then add a bit of eggplant shadow into the corners for definition. A touch of light pink shadow in the inner corners can help keep the eye from looking too heavy and open up the whole look. Finish off with a dark liner, such as Sephora's Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof in Black Lace ($9), and top off with your favorite mascara.
Now that your eyes are done, brush off any stray shadow and go in with your base. We loveBoscia's BB Cream SPF 27 PA++ ($18) which is perfect for a look such as this when its important not to cover the skin's natural texture. Keeping with the dewy base, use a cream blush, such as Josie Maran's Argan Color Stick in Spice ($22), to give the cheeks a bit of summer warmth. Top off your look with a nude or clear gloss, such as Fresh's Sugar Shine Lip Treatment ($18.50).

Emma Watson Owns Only 8 Pairs of Shoes

Many Hollywood actresses have sprawling closets with piles and piles of fabulous footwear—but Bling Ring star Emma Watson goes against the grain with only eight, count 'em, eight pairs to her name.

The actress, who covers the August issue of Teen Vogue, reveals in a recent Radio Times interview that her shoe closet is not the colossal Louboutin kingdom that exists in Paris Hilton's home (and she would know—certain scenes for The Bling Ring were filmed in Hilton's closet).

"I've got about eight pairs of shoes and that's it," she admitted.
This revelation is in stark contrast to the character Watson plays in the film, based on former Pretty Wild star Alexis Neiers—who recently gave E! an update on her life as a new mom and recovered addict.

Her performance as a Valley girl in trouble has earned rave reviews, including from Rolling Stone's Peter Travers who called her acting "sensational."
"I think she watched a lot of Kardashians to get a Calabasas accent," Bling Ring director Sofia Coppola said of Emma's portrayal. "And she watched Pretty Wild and she immersed herself into all of that."

Entertainment Weekly's Owen Gleiberman also gave Watson's new film a positive assessment, remarking that"In the end, of course, the members of the Bling Ring did get caught. Which finally made them, too, into 'celebrities.' The movie is a comic ode to how cheap our 15 minutes of fame has become."

In the Radio Times interview, Watson echoes these sentiments when commenting on the material nature of stardom: "There's a whole new definition to celebrity now. And I think that's why you see a lot of actors blanching at being associated with that word ‘celebrity' because it's become something that isn't really associated with having a craft… But it's easy for me to sound like a total hypocrite because, of course, I'm dressed in designer clothes right now."

We have to admire Emma for being honest and for being so thrifty with footwear although—knowing how stylish Ms. Watson is—we'd bet the pairs she does own are fab!
What do you think of Emma's shoe closet confession tell us in the comments?

Michael Jackson's Kids, Four Years After Dad's Death: How Are Prince, Paris and Blanket?

When Michael Jackson suddenly, shockingly died on June 25, 2009, he left behind three kids whom no one knew very much about.
Quite the achievement, when you think about it.
Considering the public's knowledge of Michael Joseph "Prince" Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II (aka Blanket) was limited almost solely to photos of the older kids wearing masks alongside their eccentric father and dad extending baby Blanket over the rail of a balcony, it must have been quite the shock for all three when they were thrust into the spotlight—where they've more or less stayed for the past four years.
And how are they doing today?
• Prince: Jackson's eldest son is now 16 and, along with his siblings, has been living with grandmother Katherine Jackson since his father's death. Cousin T.J. Jacksonnow shares custody of the trio. Prince has just recently started dabbling in the entertainment business, logging time as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and showing up on 90210. In further all-grown-up news, he has a car and a girlfriend, Remi Alfalah.
Paris Jackson, Instagram
• Paris: She created an indelibe moment at the public memorial-concert extravaganza for her father when the then-11-year-old informed the packed house and those watching on TV: "Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. And I just wanted to say I love him so much." That was her first time speaking in public. Still hospitalized after a reported suicide attempt, the now-15-year-old Paris is now the one most visibly still dealing with the trauma of her dad's death. Despite brother Prince's lack of interest in a relationship with their birth mother, Paris has been actively rekindling a connection with their mom, Debbie Rowe—a need on Paris' part that has caused a rift between her and her brother. She is said to be feeling better, but she is battling depression and family sources have said that she has a ways to go as far as treatment is concerned.
Prince Jackson, Blanket Jackson
•Blanket: Spotted recently mainly in the company of his big brother, Jackson's youngest child (birth mother unknown) seems to be doing fine. Having come a long way since that balcony in Berlin, the 11-year-old has been with his siblings, grandma and other family members at TV tapings, concerts and Jackson-related appearances. He attended his cousin Taj Jackson's wedding on June 16 along with Prince, Katherine, grandfather Joe Jackson, Aunt La Toya Jackson, uncles Tito andJermaine and more. "Blanket was really outgoing, but he only talks to the people he's close with," an insider told E! News after the event.

Katy Perry and John Mayer "Very Lovey-Dovey" on Glam NYC Date Night, Says Source

Katy Perry and John Mayer just couldn't stay away from one another! On Monday night, the duo reunited (again!)

For a romantic evening in NYC. Katy, 28, stunned in a peach satin gown, while John, 35, pulled-together in a well-fitting gray suit as the pair were snapped leaving the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Earlier in the evening, John performed at the Friars Foundation Awards Gala. A source told ABC News the "Paper Doll" singer arrived solo, and Katy arrived after the event had already started and joined John's table.

Katy and John were "affectionate" and "very lovey-dovey," according to an insider. "They were smooching and rubbing one another's backs…And Katy had her arm around John at one point."

Katy and John were also "cuddly and cute" on their NYC date night on Saturday, a source told E! News. The pair hit up the Greenwich Hotel and the Bowery Hotel and, according to a source, "definitely gave the impression that [they] are 100 percent back together."

E! News broke the news earlier this month that John and Katy were "back on,", although sources at the time claimed the pair were "not putting a label on it.' Hey, whatever you want to call them, it looks like John and Katy are having fun!

The Amazing Spider-Man actress says her best-kept skincare secret involves scrubbing her face with sodium bicarbonate, which usually is used for baking. "When I want to exfoliate my skin, I simply scrub it with some baking soda", she said.

She also said she has no diet tips since she's addicted to sugar and fast food.

Oh No! National Zoo's Red Panda is Missing

The National Zoo let the world know via Twitter this morning that Rusty, a male red panda, has been missing and was last seen at 6PM ET on Sunday. According to the zoo, red pandas are "arboreal, territorial animals," so the odds that Rusty would wander far from his home would be odd. Animal care staff have been searching trees around the zoo since 8AM this morning. They theorize that he may be sick and hiding, or - worse - someone could have taken him.

Update 2:59PM: Rusty was spotted in the D.C. neighborhood of Adams Morgan around 1:30PM and has been rescued by the National Zoo! Thank goodness this story ended happily.I don't now about you but i'm soo happy rusty is found

#1 Hot Read An Abundance of Katherines By John Green

This week #1 Hot Read Is a nerd fighter book but you don't have to be a nerd fighter to read the book because this book dose not have anything to do with nerdy stuff and these review is of curtsey of Jene. These MAY
CONTAIN A MINER SPOILER.If you had the opportunity to devise a theorem that could correctly predict the outcome of a romantic relationship, would you do it? If it worked, would you use it? Can it even be done? This is the problem plaguing Colin Singleton, recent high school graduate, nearly-former child prodigy, hopeful genius. Colin, you see, has a significant problem.

He falls in love quite easily, which in and of itself isn't such a bad thing. The fact that all of his loves, nineteen of them to be exact, have been named Katherine can even be explained away by some form of twisted scientific method. What can't be explained, though, is why Colin has been dumped by all nineteen of those Katherines. When he's dumped by the love of his life, Katherine XIX, he finds himself in a bad place.

He can no longer call himself a child prodigy, since he's graduated from high school. He's not a genius, because he's never come up with anything that will change the world. There's an empty place inside of him where his latest Katherine's love used to live, and he doesn't know what to do with himself. Until Hassan Harbish (Muslim, but not a terrorist) devises a way to get Colin out of his funk--a road trip.

With no destination in mind, the two set off in The Hearse, Colin's car, and go where the road leads them. Where it leads them is a small town called Gutshot, Tennessee, where Colin gets the urge to see the supposed grave of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. It's also where the two meet Lindsey Lee Wells and her mother, Hollis. Not to mention where they get to live in a giant Pepto Bismol-pink house on a hill, interview employees of a factory that makes tampon strings, and eat Monster Thickburgers at the local Hardees.

It's also the place where Colin decides to finish the Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability. Assign numerical value to different variables, plot it on a graph, and you'll be able to predict how long a relationship will last--and who will be the dumper, and who will be the dumpee. Except Colin forgot some pertinent information, like chance, and distorted memories, and the fact that love is never predictable.

As Colin and Hassan learn a few things about life in the small town of Gutshot, we get to follow their journey of learning to grow up, to make a name for yourself, and how to matter as a person. I loved AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES, even more than Mr. Green's previous book, LOOKING FOR ALASKA. That book won the prestigious Michael L. Printz award, and I won't be surprised if this book is nominated, as well. This story is funny, poignant, and informative.

For example, if I hadn't read AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES I would never have known that: 1) Fetor hepaticus is a symptom of late-stage liver failure where your breath literally smells like a rotting corpse. 2) The junior senator from New Hampshire in 1873 was Bainbridge Wadleigh. 3) There is absolutely no scientific proof that drinking eight glasses of water a day will improve your health. 4) Dingleberries can be anagrammed into see inbred girl lie breeds grin leering debris greed be nil, sir be idle re. rings ringside rebel and residing rebel. 5) Nikola Tesla did a lot for electricity before Thomas Edison came along and stole some of his ideas, and he also loved pigeons. 6) I still suck at math. Order this book today. It's great, you'll love it, and you'll actually learn stuff. Three for the price of one!You can check it out here: Amazon.com/An Abundance of Katherines

#1 Hot Reads The Book of Blood and Shadow By Robin Wasserman

I am going to admit right from the start that I am never going to be able to give this book enough justice in this review, because it was just that spectacular. The Book of Blood and Shadow BLEW me away from start to finish. It had so many good things going for it: descriptive settings, fully developed characters, a mystery that ceaselessly twisted and turned, and smart, talented writing that puts nearly any other book to shame.

WARNING THIS MAY CONTAIN A MINER SPIOLER.One of the things I loved about this book was how it was slow building. Normally, when a book is slow to start, I become a little put off, but Robin Wasserman made it work perfectly with the story, because not only did she take that time to truly build the characters up, but also even in the beginning the mystery was being strung together, the reader nor the characters just didn't realize it yet. This leads me to the plot.

The plot in this was kick-a##, no lie. It contained so many twists and turns and surprises that I had no idea where the book was going to end, which made me love it even more. I especially enjoyed how well developed everything was. From the mystery behind the book to the letters Nora translated to the romance she had with Max to the friendship she had with Eli, everything was just perfect to the point where I do not even want to talk about any specific point; because this is one you book you just need to experience on your own. Trust me.

The characters in this were another high point. Nora managed to win me over from the start. She was smart and quiet, yet she was daring and relentless. I loved how dedicated she was to her work with the letters as well as to her friends. Best of all, I loved how seemingly ordinary she appeared throughout, because it truly allowed me to sink even more into the story. In addition, to her character a variety of other ones were introduced a well: Chris, Eli, Max, and Adriane. The former two of the four I loved to pieces.

Chris was oblivious in ways that I will not mention, and while they made me angry at times, I still adored his character. Eli was wild to tell the truth. I never knew where his character was going, but I did know one thing: he adored Nora. In addition, it did not hurt that him and Nora had great chemistry as well as tension. Max and Adriane, however, where characters I wavered between liking and not liking. They were secretive and always manipulative, but they still managed to bring a lot to the book.

Lastly, I have to say: Robin Wasserman is an INCREDIBLE author! Prior to this, I have never had the chance of reading anything by her, but boy, if her other books are anything like this one, I need to read them ASAP. I loved how descriptive her writing as, and how it managed to pull me into the settings as well as the characters heads. I especially adored how everything in this book was necessary. They were no fill even with the 400 plus pages, which was just awesome, in my opinion.

The only aspect I did not like about the book was the ending, but it was selfish on my part, because I only didn't like it because I wanted more. However, from the ending, I have a small feeling there will be more. Hopefully book #2 is on its way.

Brilliant as well as well written, The Book of Blood and Shadow was truly magnificent. It's one book I can't suggest highly enough, and come its release, I'll definitely be talking it up at every chance I get.Click here to now more :Book-Blood-Shadow-Robin-Wasserman/
